According to the rolling shape, it can be divided into:
- Smooth steel bar: Grade I steel bar (q300 steel bar) is rolled into a smooth round section, and the supplied form is round, with a diameter no more than 10 mm and length of 6 m ~ 12 M.
- Ribbed steel bar: spiral, herringbone, and crescent shape. Generally, grade II and III steel bars are rolled into adult shape, and grade IV steel bars are rolled into spiral and crescent shapes.
- Steel wire (including low carbon steel wire and carbon steel wire) and steel strand.
- Cold rolled and twisted steel bar: cold rolled and cold twisted.
According to the rolling process, it can be divided into:
Hot rolled steel bars are 6.5-9 mm in diameter, most of which are rolled into coils; those with diameters of 10-40 mm are generally 6-12 m long straight bars. Hot rolled steel bars should have a certain strength, namely yield point and tensile strength, which is the main basis of the structural design. It can be divided into a hot-rolled round steel bar and a hot-rolled ribbed steel bar. Hot rolled steel bar is soft and rigid, and the necking phenomenon will occur when fracture and the elongation are large.
Hot rolled steel bar is the finished steel bar formed by hot rolling and naturally cooled. It is made of low carbon steel and common alloy steel under high temperatures. It is mainly used for reinforcement of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structure and is one of the most widely used steel products in civil engineering.

The elongation of a cold-rolled ribbed steel bar is larger than that of the same kind of cold-working steel, which is used in the cast-in-place concrete structure of residential and public buildings.
